R2 – Addition

R2 Addition in Wave Numbers math is straightforward. Opposite Values with Opposite Signs cancel each other out. It is commutative and associative. See examples below:

Examples

• 1^{^} + 0 = 1^{^};           i^{^} + 0 = i^{^}            
• 1^v + 0 = 1^v;           i^v + 0 = i^v;            
• 1^{^} + 1^v  = 0;          i^{^} + i^v = 0                           
• 1^v + 1^{^}  = 0;          i^v + i^{^}  = 0   
  • This shows that addition is commutative

• 1^v + i^{^}  = i^{^} + 1^v;          1^{^} + i^{^}  = i^{^}+1^{^}
• 0 + 0 = 0                                  
  • Note 0 is neither ^{^} or ^v

• 4^{^} + 6^{^}  = 10^{^};      4i^{^} + 6i^{^}  = 10i^{^} 
• 4^{^} + 6^{^} + 3^v  = 7^{^}; 4i^{^} + 6i^{^} + 3i^v  = 7i^{^};         
• 4^v + 6^{^} + 3^v  = 1^v; 4i^v + 6i^{^} + 3i^v  = i^v                 
• (4^v+ 6^{^}) + 3^v = 1^v; (4i^v+ 6i^{^}) + 3i^v = i^v            
• 4^v+ (6^{^} + 3^v) = 1^v; 4i^v+ (6i^{^} + 3i^v) = i^v  
  • This shows that addition is associative
